Terms of Service

Patches Integrated Health (ABN 30 623 115 453), operating PaediaStory · Last updated 3 November 2026

These are the terms of the agreement between you and Patches Integrated Health (55 Salvado Road, Subiaco WA 6008), which operates PaediaStory. We have tried to write them so you can actually read them.

PaediaStory is not medical advice

PaediaStory organises what you tell us so your child’s doctor can understand it faster. It does not diagnose anything, it does not treat anything, and it does not decide what is urgent. It is not a substitute for care from a health professional.

If your child is unwell and you are worried, contact your doctor. In an emergency call 000. Do not wait for an appointment because you have filled something in here.

What we do

We give you a questionnaire before your appointment, turn your answers into a briefing your clinician reads, and turn them into an illustrated story for your child. The questions come from a published set written by people. A language model reads them aloud, turns speech into text and rewrites the story in warmer words. It never chooses the questions and never decides urgency.

Your account

Your clinic invites you. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in to yourself, including the PIN you choose on your own device. Tell us or your clinic if you think someone else has been in your account.

A young person aged twelve or over may have their own sign-in with a private section. Their answers there go to the care team and to them, not to you.

What you tell us

Answer honestly, and only about your own child. What you write is passed to your child’s care team, so write it as you would say it to them. You keep ownership of what you tell us. You give us permission to use it to provide the service, which is described in the privacy page.

Paying

A family subscription covers everyone on your account. You can cancel at any time from your own account, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

  • A subscription is needed only to start a new questionnaire.
  • A questionnaire already under way is never cut off part-heard.
  • Everything you have already shared stays yours to read, including your child’s story book, whatever happens to the subscription.
  • Your clinician still sees everything you have already shared.
  • If paying would be difficult, tell your clinic. They can cover it for you, and there is no form and no means test.

Payment is by card through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and include GST where it applies. If a payment fails, nothing stops working straight away: Stripe retries for a few days and we ask you to update your card.

Refunds

If something goes wrong, or you paid by mistake, tell us and we will sort it out. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which we cannot exclude.

For clinics

A clinic decides which families to invite and is responsible for the clinical care it provides. PaediaStory prepares information; it does not practise medicine. A clinic can cover any family’s subscription at its own discretion.

Fair use

Please do not:

  • use someone else’s account, or set one up for a child you are not responsible for
  • upload anything that is not about your child’s care
  • try to break, overload or get around the security of the service
  • copy the questionnaire or the service to build something else

We can suspend an account that does these things. If we do, we will tell you why, and you can still get a copy of what you shared.

When things go wrong

We work hard to keep PaediaStory available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable or never contain a mistake. Check anything important with your clinician rather than relying on what you read here.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where we are allowed to limit our liability, we limit it to supplying the service again or refunding what you paid for it.

Changes and law

If we change these terms we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change affects you materially we will tell you rather than leave you to find it.

These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that state. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands.
